i've recently added 2 khaki Campbell ducks to my flock flock of 7 girls, they have a 4ft pool and I've also got them a second bucket full of water as there drinking water. I clean the pond 3 times a week, as soon as the water is clean the ducks are making it dirty again are they okay to swim in muddy water for up to a week or do I just have to accept it has to be clean water every other day? any advice on what people do to keep there pond/paddling pool clean would be brilliant. Thanks.

Ducks can turn anything to mud in a matter of minutes. During the summer I cleaned their big pool out every 2 or 3 days. During the winter when I had to use smaller pools I would clean them 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes for dirt, more often for ice.

We change ours out every few days in the summer; we actually have a stockpile of pools so we can just toss down a clean one and fill it while the other one is draining.... We sump the water to the trees for fertilizer :D

Some days they go without the pool and we leave the water running at a trickle to water the yard, and it all gathers at the low end and they play in the puddle there... They enjoy that TONS more than the pool ;)

But their drinking water gets changed out every morning. ALWAYS clean drinking water :)
