Ducks and drakes please advise

1. Hi all.. I'm new to this site and also quite new to raising ducks.. I got some duckling at a week old about 7 weeks ago. They are now 8 weeks old. I got 13 in total. If iv sexed them correctly I have 8 ducks and 5 drakes. My question is will it be ok to keep 3 drakes to 8 ducks? Iv become quite attached to all my ducks and really struggling on the fact I will have to rehome any of the drakes. The reason I ask about having 3 drakes is because the 3 drakes I want to keep are my favourite out of them all I couldn't bare to rehome them. There are 2 drakes I don' mind rehoming but ill still be sad to see them go. They are Indian runners. I have built them a new bigger enclosure and it is very spacious they will be moving into it next weekend.

If you find it a problem once they are sexually mature then you may have to think of rehoming another . One problem I see is drakes are notorious for gang raping and 3 drakes could drown a female pretty easy even 2 could but 3 would really be something you’ll have to keep close eye on then for the girls safety you may have to make the difficult decision to find another a home

No..Honestly one Drake can handle all your Hens.
Once mature Drakes fight and over breed Hens an will pick on a certain favourite Hen too. Either drown or inure her..

I'm looking for runner drakes in the fall, if you're in New England I could take them. I'm looking for pets.

I think I'm goin to keep 3 and let 2 go and see how things turn out and if i need to rehome another or 2 next year then so be it.. I'm from England. Nottingham ng21
