Hello! We keep chickens (8 right now) and have had ducks in the past. I got rid of them due to us living downtown and them being rather noisy creatures. We're moving waaaaaaaaay out into the country though and will have 125 acres to play on. The land comes with four man-made, spring fed ponds, each approximately 1 and change acres in size. Three of the ponds are stocked with bass and channel cats. I'm wondering what the logistics look like in adding ducks to this setup. I'd rather not pollute my ponds and I'd as like to keep them low-tech and hands off. These ponds have been there long enough now that they're "natural" -- they're not managed, fish are repopulating themselves, water stays clean and free of blooms. It's off enough into the country that there isn't any pollution from run off.

I want to try to keep this water that way. I'm wondering if there is a ratio of ducks to water at which I can safely say, "ya those ducks aren't going to mess up the ecosystem too much".
