Ducks and Lettuce

My chickens and ducks get some lettuce every evening. I've noticed that the ducks seem to "wash" their lettuce before eating it. Has anyone ever noticed that? It's pretty cute.

Mine don't but ducks LOVE to get things out of the water, often when i brood ducks myself(vs using my ducks) i will put small pieces for lettuce in a bowl of water, peas are another that they like done that way.

I have a swan that enjoys romaine lettuce. The chickens just gobble up the whole thing, but he eats it with great finesse, nibbling just the leaf bit and leaving the spine, and sometimes delicately dipping it in his water bucket first, then fishing it out as if it were pond weeds.

YES! hahah. When I used to have my two ducks they loved lettuce, but not dirty lettuce.lol.
They would take it over and rip it apart in the water.
