Hello,

Well I have a duck who has a niacin deficiency and has been on niacin supplements for a week or so now, and that brings me to my question. How long should a duck be on niacin before coming off of them?

If you're feeding ordinary chicken feed, you'll always have to feed extra niacin. Chicken feed doesn't have enough niacin for ducks. However, once the niacin deficiency is under control (once the duck is normal again), you can feed less extra niacin.

Usually the first 4-6wks range. By that age mine all go to growers and not duck just standard chicken, now if you use a broiler grower/starter it contains enough for most ducks.. i am a darn zoo of babies this year and all have thrived ... the only ducks i have found to benefit from duck starter/growers are the Pekin, the other breeds i own(Muscovy, call & Buff) have all done fine on broiler starter and chicken growers.
