I'm here in Colorado also. I recently got some ducks. I've always been a chicken girl but wanted to try and sell eggs for extra $$. I ended up with 3 boys! Luckily I still have enough girls. I requested girls and thought that's what I had until recently. They are 12 weeks old today. Two of the Khaki's have raspy voices and more colorful plumage at the wings. It wouldn't be an issue but they are trying to mate with my sweet Orpington hens and I have to move my hens every morning from their coop before the ducks get to them. I'm at my wits end. I did post in the free re-homing area but no luck. If anyone is willing to give the boys a good home, not for meat, I would be ever so grateful. Two are Khaki Campbells and one is a Pekin. They have been raised together and get along very well. They are still shy with me even though they spent their first 8 weeks in my bathroom because it wouldn't stop snowing up here in the mountains!! I am not someone who gets rid of an animal just because I can't deal with it, but I feel I have to protect my hens who have been with me for so long. I have been trying to devise a way to redo my area but I don't really have the funds to create yet another duck house and fencing area. I will drive the boys anywhere if someone would just give them a loving home.

I know what you mean--have 4 Saxony drakes myself. Have you tried a local neighborhood paper? Good luck to you.

I've looked at every possible place I can. I just don't have a big enough area for separating everyone so life is peaceful. If I had a big place with lots of females it would be fine but unfortunately I don't.
