Ducks aren't used to water, UPDATED!!

Well, we were at a 4th of July picnic today with some friends, and they are going to take the Quackers!! They have a wonderful farm with 50 acres, and already have 2 geese that stay right there all the time, so I think it'll be a great place for them

They are beautiful!! I love crested ducks! I got a surprise crested pekin in my hatch, and he seems to be everyone's favorite!

My ducks I had to literally throw them in the pond. They couldn't get in or out of it so I had to help them each time. Finally I bought them a little pool so that they could do it themselves and the very day I bring out the pool they run to the pond and jump in it! Now I cant get them in the blue pool because they like their pond. The pond isnt intended for them so I have to retrain them to use the pool. Until then my ducklings, and son seem to be making prety good use of it. Just pick the ducks up an plop them in the water. Eventually they will understand and do it. It may seem like they are never going to get it but one day soon they will surprise you. You should have an easier time with 3 ducks, I have to train 7!

You can float lettuce or other nummy treats in the water. I adopted a farm duck that had never seen a pond either. Took her a while, but she figured it out.

give them time. they will get in . then you will not be able to get them out they look good I wish I could have some ,some day when I buy a farm? Ha Ha not in ny to much taxes!!!

My 1st flock was scared of the water. I even tossed them in a couple of times but that didn't help. I tossed in a dozen feeder goldfish and they were in the water 30 minutes later.

Ducks are great but ducks are stupid. No offense, I love ducks.

We had 2 Pekins that loved the water but they had to learn how to get into the pool EVERYTIME. They would run around and around the pool until they figured out the spot to get in. EVERYTIME!!

Try putting them in the water. They'll take to it.
