While hubby and I are building their duck house, I'm keeping our small flock in the daylight basement at night. They never seem to really like going in, but they follow me somewhat diligently every evening to get put away. Yesterday I was dithering around the house and not really keeping track of time. I finally went downstairs to get their bed all set up for the evening when I look out the french glass doors and see them all lined up looking in expectantly. As soon as they see me all the ducks bills are pressed against the glass with the birds in back trying to push the ones in front through the door. They started making quite a ruckus! Once I had my fill of looking at the cute little things, I opened the door and they practically fell in, clamoring to be first into their night pen.

Everyday, they make me smile and laugh. Often.

LOL how cute. My crew do the same thing at night...they head arouns the deck catching bugs, come get their bedtime snack from me and then march off to the garage. I wonder how easily they will get the hang of the duck house when finished...time will tell here.

That must be so cute. My ducks are never far away from the pen near bedtime, although they don't always go in by themselves. If I get there too early they have to be herded in!

Mine are now all putting themselves to bed at night. We just have to go out and lock up. Most nights, Nibbles, the head drake, will be standing there waiting on us. LOL

That is nice! My five mallards fly away in protest if I try to put them in their house. You are very lucky.
