I have had ducks for 10 years and never lost a one during a thunderstorm. I lost five 8 week old ducks last night. They simply disappeared overnight. They were in a 3 acre fenced in enclosure on the pond. They can't fly yet, don't think they drowned. No predators out last night. No bodies or sign of them anywhere. I'm dumbfounded.

Any ideas?

I've had my pekins stampede the the electric poultry netting fence during a close thunderstorm before, and they got out.

Yeah I figured they got spooked and got through the fence somehow. Not sure how or where. Their wing feathers haven't grown in yet, but maybe they got over the 4 foot fence anyway. I'm very sad about it. I live in a thickly wooded rural area. I'm sure something will get them.

Fantastic news!!!!! I bet they are as glad to be home- as you are to have them back again.
