I purchased 6 white Pekin ducks to raise for Thanksgiving dinner, and two have died so far. I'm concerned because everything I've read says that ducks are supposed to be hardier than chickens.

They're only 3 weeks old, but should I be concerned about this? Is it as normal as baby chicks dying young?

Chicks or ducklings dying young isn't normal.

Where are you keeping them and how?
I keep 3 week old ducks in my house unless it's high summer then I have a special chick pen with shallow cake pans for splashing if I have ducks. They have to able to get in and out easily or they drown.

Are they warm enough? Are they cool enough? What are you feeding them.

I find ducks harder than chicks only because they are so messy.
