I've gotten 2 ducklings this spring and we just leave them in the pond 24/7 because they make the hen house a mess. Just overnight the coop is all slimy and gross. I live in Atlantic Canada and the winters here are crazy, -25C and tons of snow! I can't leave the ducks out all winter because the pond freezes over and it's too cold. I am just wondering if anyone has any tricks for keeping the coop dry and clean in the winter. Thanks

Not sure i live in sask canada we can easily get down to minus 40 C. And i too only got ducks this spring and wondering what to do in the winter. (I also am getting geese to go with my ducks.)

Yes we can get darn cold.....Brrrrr!.....I do run heat when it's that cold....I cant sit in my warm house knowing my Birds are not comfy too...Never heated too warm...water will freeze up, but Birds are safe and not out in -28...We all sleep well....

We are in Colorado and I too Just got ducks this spring. I'm so worried about them over the winter! We use hay in their coop, and we don't keep water or food in it. They are fine overnight without it, and much less mess! We were told feeding them more often and more protein would help them overnight to stay warm. My guys love cooked rice and veggies or scrambled eggs!
