I built a wider and less steep ramp for my ducklings who are almost 8 weeks old now. I was pleasantly surprised to see them going into the duck house even before my chickens go into their coop after only 2 days of me training them. I’ve heard ducks like to stay out in the evening but not mine.
My issue is when I open their door in the morning, they take a couple of steps on the ramp and then they jump off. I’m afraid they’ll hurt their legs if they do so. Why are they doing this and how do I stop them from doing it? I have no idea how they enter the house since they’re in the pool one minute and then inside the house the next minute but I assume jumping
isn’t involved. They’re lighter weight ducks but it’s still worrisome.

They seem to dislike anything that‘s elevated.
