I thought I noticed a duck with a patch of missing feathers yesterday and when I took a look at her I was surprised to see that it was pin feathers coming in near her tail. I had no idea they were molting; I am getting a consistent 10-12 eggs a day from the 12 duck hens. Is it common for ducks to keep up high laying production when molting?

My ducks lay all year round whether they're molting, it's below zero or 100 degrees. They're on all flock/flock maintenance feed with oyster shell free choice most of the year except the month before I collect eggs for hatching they go on layer feed and then right back to maintenance after I have my incubator full.

That's interesting 🤔. Mine eat chicken layer feed with free choice oyster shell. What breeds do you have?
