Ducks on Porch

My ducks love to sit on the porch. There isn't food or water on the porch. They do seem to like to look in the window which we have tried to make sure the curtain is closed. I wouldn't mind them on the porch if it wasn't for the poop!
Anyone have any effective ways to keep ducks off certain areas/porch?

They are two female muscovies.

You can always shoo them off. Mine have learned not to come up on the patio like they used to. But, other than consistent training, they will continue to sit and poop on the porch.

For chickens, I would suggest a motion activated sprinkler, but obviously that would encourage your ducks.
But still, they have to encounter something not fun if they go up on the porch. Whether that's you coming out and gently pushing them off with a broom or something else, it needs to happen consistently every time they come up there for at least a couple of weeks.
My friends have a wrap around porch with a railing, but there's obviously an opening where the steps go up. They just made a little sliding gate to go across when the chickens are out. I don't know if you have railings around the rest of your porch, but is something like that an option?

Also I have found my hose to be my best friend at keeping poop off areas where they like to sit and relax. On our porch in front of our house my husband built a gate out of lattice.

Did shooing them off end up working? I’m having the same problem!! Especially in winter where I can’t just hose it off.

I wouldn't recommend this, but mine pooped right in front of my front door all summer, until an unfortunate predator attack occurred while I was running errands. It took them a month or so to venture back up here. I did miss it (not the poop) but the duck parade outside my front door. I suppose I'll just put up with the poop again.

Oh no I’m so sorry! The poop is so annoying but I love the parade outside my door more! So Ive been putting up with it, I shooed them off once and felt bad and haven’t done it again

Mine used to hang out on the porch and look trough the French doors at me. "Mom, can we have peas" so cute,but poop. Embarrassing when we had a guest that had to poop wade to the front door. Sometimes they would knock with their bills for attention. I broke down and bought a pressure washer.

mine are exactly the same! They know mom comes out of THIS door with left overs from last nights dinner. Luckily mines in the back not the front! And in summer it’s not such a big deal because the hose isn’t froze and they seem to prefer the grass in summer.

Off to the left we have a big patio, that’s where the real mess is!
