I've kept ducks for 4 years. I have three females at the moment - one is turning 4 and the others are turning 2 later this spring. They have been solid egg layers until now. It's not like they have tapered off - they are doing absolutely NOTHING!
They seemed to have an early exit into the winter egg break, which I thought was a little odd but I didn't perseverate on it. But now it's almost the end of March and I'm still getting nothing! My chickens have been back online for well over a month now.
My almost 4 year old Rouen molts in the fall and calls it a season, it's like clockwork. I realize she's getting old and will have lower production but she went from a very steady egg layer to nothing.
The almost 2 year olds - a runner and Cayuga - I don't know what their excuse is. They are still young enough to be laying regularly and there have been zero eggs.
Not much has changed in terms of care - same coop, same flock, same feed, etc.
Would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!
