Ok I got two magpie ducks Maggie and Puddles. I thought both were female but it turns out that Maggie is a boy, I had a feeling when Maggie would get on top of puddles in the pool and was doing some weird stuff like holding her head under water while on top of her, I guess this is their love making roeteen.
Now that it's been egg laying time for the last few weeks, only puddles is laying the eggs. Which is fine cause I know as long as I get the eggs daily like chickens; that may have a rooster it's fine to eat the eggs. Plus they are in love lol I would never think of seperating them.

Ok say I want to hatch a baby duckling? just a thought, Would I need a incabator?
And as I go get the egg daily I have noticed some yellow stuff on the egg is that the boy duck trying to furtilize the egg?
Can I just leave one of the egg in their that the female lays and get a baby duckling that way?

I'm not sure how this whole process works anybody that can help me out would be so much appreciated.

I would keep on eye on the drake, they can and often do drown females, trying to breed them on water. She doesn't need a ton of breedings to produce fertile eggs.

I don't know about ducks deciding to nest and hatch out eggs - they may have a certain time of the year they do so. You would be best served by asking your questions on the "Duck thread."
