Ducks

Hi everybody i have ducks and chickens baby ducks and chickens and i was wondering if i should separate them?
Welcome to BYC.
You will need to seperate them when they start maturing. A male duck will try to breed the female chickens. Their anatomy is different. The drakes may injure are kill your female chickens.

:welcome :ya:yesss: Hello and welcome to BYC. You found an Amazing Poultry Community to be a part of, with many knowledgeable members who are willing to help you along your journey with any questions you may have. Enjoy :)

We have a mixed flock that started with all baby chicks and ducklings. IMO, it's ok when they are younger, but when they get bigger they both have different needs. Meaning ducks lover their water and lots of it!

Also you don't want your adult male Drakes to try breed your chicken hens, because they can hurt them if not kill them, because of their size in that area. LOL

Best of luck with your flock and please keep us posted. :)
