Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.

i have two swedish blue peckins, one is dark and the other is light but was wondering she just started laying eggs and we are getting two a day. how can you tell if one is a girl and one is a boy or do they lay two eggs a day?
