I am going to place my order soon from Ideal. I would imagine that if a few of us combined orders we could ship our chicks up sooner than April. I have called them and gotten quotes on the Norwegian Jaerhons, CX and Red broilers. I was ordering 50 of each of the meaties @ $1.69 if someone else wanted to add in the order, say you also want some of these birds the price will drop to 100 @ $1.61 or a savings of $9.00 per each 100. That would pay for shipping totally. I am also ordering 15 Bourbon Red turkeys although they are not discounted, they are $9.30 no matter how many you buy. I would like to order soon for March delivery of at least my Layers and then again in April (ALthough you have to ORDER now) for the turkeys and meaties. Go ahead and PM me if you are interested. We can have them shipped to the most convenient address for all who want to order, or my post office in Two Harbors which is small and the Post Master gets very tickled when chicks come through on a Friday morning. In the past have gotten a very prompt call at 5:30 am with little peeping chickys in the background ready to go home. I just thought the little babes would stay warmer the more there was of them.
