Dumb ?

I am going to get a rooster for my 12 hens, and wondering if the roo will be ok on the layer pellet feed. Is one to twelve hens ok or would I need two? I'm not so much concerned with breeding, I might try and hatch a few next year. I am starting to free range my girls and would like a stud to watch over them is the main reason I want to add a roo.

My roo eats layer feed and he seems just fine. He does like to try out the nest boxes for size once in awhile ; ) I don't know that it's due to the layer crumble.

No question is a dumb question. Yes, he will be in heaven with 12 girls and he will do just fine on the feed.
