I picked up a puppy on the highway yesterday that seems to have been dumped. She was 20 miles from one town and 30 miles from the next, not sore-footed or particularly hungry.

She's some kind of shorter haired Border Collie mix, yellow and white with freckles. She is about 4 months old, and absolutely adorable. Great temperament, she gets along with our dogs and completely ignores the other animals, including the chickens (at least for now she does!). She's about 20lbs at the moment, she's not going to be very big. She is a little timid at first, but as soon as she knows you're not going to hurt her she's your best buddy. She sticks right with me while we're doing chores. Typical Border Collie personality really, listens very well (better than our own dogs LOL). We just can't keep her, we have five already. If we didn't she'd be staying, she's a wonderful pup. Working on crate training, working on basic obedience.

She wouldn't like to be left outside alone, she wants to be with people. I think she'd be in heaven going to work with someone or having someone home all day. She loves other dogs and is submissive.

She's free to a good home on the condition that she is spayed.

My niece lives in Albuquerque. I have no idea how far away from you that is. She just lost her dog last week. If you want to post a pic I could email it to her and see if she is interested.

Sure, i'll take some this morning.

Albuquerque is about 3 hours west of us.

Thanks! I am not sure if she is ready yet or not but this could work out. Wouldn't that be great!

I think she has found a home with a family friend. Here are some pics of her though. If it doesn't work out, I can let you know if you like.

Well thanks for saying that, but I just couldn't leave her! She was in the middle of nowhere and right by the highway. My mom always says they know my weakness and come looking for me. The creepy thing is that I took a wrong turn, and wouldn't have found her if i'd gone the right way.

My husband despairs, but he likes her a lot too. He was trying to ignore her and not get attached, but now that he knows she's leaving she's getting spoiled!

My best guess is Border Collie something, but who knows what!

She is probly a heeler mix, or something of that sort...... with the freckles and all.

Don't tell my DH, but she's been asleep under my desk all evening

This is too good a dog to have Heeler breeding lol

I see heeler too. Possibly heeler x border.... **shrug** would need other angles to really get any idea of breeds.

Btw....my dog is a heeler cross, and besides his odd quirks from being abused and neglected as a puppy...he is a great dog. Heeler doesn't mean bad.......
