Don't know if anyone else on here from the NYC area saw this in the Times this past week. Apparently there has been a rash of roosters being dumped in a park in the West Village -- 5 since September.
It's unclear whether they are "leftovers" from breeding for an illegal activity or someone didn't realize he/she had ended up with roosters in his/her backyard flock until it was too late. Wish I could take this little guy -- if you look at his photo on the website of the rescue that has him he's adorable, if in need of a bath.
