dust bath recipe

ok My chooks are inside a garage coop so this winter they are unable to dig a hole and take a dust bath. I was thinking of giving them a box to do so with a little DE in it, but what else? What would be a good mix, a little dirt, play sand, ash sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I can not find a thred on it anywhere....

I use play sand and about 2 cups of food-grade DE.
Your birds will appreciate this!

I also use the play sand, DE,
but add some peat moss,
the ladies and gents love it.

A while back someone mentioned using an old tire for this purpose...

My girls like dirt, sand, cooled off wood stove ashes. By this time of year they will take whatever they can get.

About the old tire- I would be afraid a bird would get stuck inside it...

I use an old tire... never had one stuck i use sand,wood ash and DE
