Dust Bath with Wood Ash

Does anyone add wood ash to the quail dust bathing area or sand box?

I’ve done it for chickens but wasn’t sure about the quail I don’t see it being an issue wanted to see it someone else did it also

See I don’t have that issue. I have special quail that don’t lay eggs

Oh quail. I meant chickens. Yes the quail get a tin of the same mixture everytime their pens get cleaned out. It's consumed and scattered within 5 minutes. But they love it.

I put ash in the sand box too. It makes the cage very dusty but I don't mind
