Dust bathing question

Do y'all give your quail something to dust in? What should I use, diatomaceous earth, sand, or a mixture or what? I'm new to quail and want to know anything to help me keep them healthy.

I give mine some sand to roll around in. Just normal playsand...they love it. I put it in all kinds of containers...pans, bowls, and old rabbit feeders when they are in rabbit cages. When they are free ranged i make a little pit of sand for them, but they usually have dust to roll in.

I give sand with DE mixed in but they LOVE getting into the fire pit and using wood ash. I should really gather some up and add to their sand.
