Dust baths

Soooo I want to give my lil ol’ quails a dust bath and I was just wondering what I should use to give them a dust my dad was thinking sand but I just wanna confirm that’s all

if your dad has some bonfire ash, that would be a good addition. And some nice fine dry soil.
How old are they?

I give mine dirt from my backyard.

A mix of dry sand, ash, and fine dusty dirt would be good. You can mix in some DE.

Nope, looks like sand.

sometimes i give them dirt from my garden (underneath my lawn ) but they get all dusty. I don't recommend it for week old quails.
