Dye the chickens?

Hey everyone,
One of my professors is from Tanzania and he mentioned that people from his country often dye their chickens green (by grinding grass in a mortar and pestle) to help camouflage the birds. I have never heard of this in the US but evidently it greatly helps lower the mortality rate in free range birds... pretty neat idea!

I have heard of people using waterd down food coloring would that be eisier?
Hmm It does sound doable but it would not work on darker breeds.
Hmm I might have to try it.

It would be funny to have little tye-dyed chickens running around. Like little hippies!
