My duck coop
I have a duckling that was just born yesterday it needed a lot of help to be able to hatch. It was actually incubated by its own mother however the egg got damaged so I took it inside and put it in an incubator. It had been working very hard to get out of the egg in the egg started to have that dead smell so I knew we had to help it out. She doesn’t seem to be doing too well she stops trying to walk and now she’s just slowly bobbing her head and she’s never had a peep more like a crack tiny peep sound

I don’t know much but I wouldn’t touch the stuff on its belly until someone more experienced chimes in. It looks like where their ‘belly button’ is… I’ve read pulling a scab off prematurely can disembowel the baby.

Is it eating and drinking?

Should I try to unclog the stuff at the bottom? Is that what’s wrong?
No don't pull on that stuff. It's dried up yolk that didn't absorb.
Not much you can do that I know of besides just keep it on something clean and soft.
Maybe rub some Neosporin on it to help prevent infection.
Either the navel will go ahead and close and that stuff will dry up and fall off,
Or it won't. Sorry 😐
