NOBODY RESPONDED TO MY LAST POST! Symptoms here:
" Our 7 month old Copper Maran Yin has recently begun exhibiting ill behavior.
She and her siblings are still laying their kinder eggs, if that helps. I cannot tell if she has stopped laying or not. She has a strange listlessness and while she can stand, will often stumble and fall if pushed or otherwise. Her balance is a bit messed up and she consistently throws her wings out to steady herself when she moves. She drank when provided water, and in the rare chance she stops dozing on the ground she sits up to pick grass, but will not feed on pellets. Her poop was pure white, but not milky or runny. Consistent white excrement. I cannot see any sign of a tumor or disturbances around her vent, and hercomb/waddle/throat are unscathed. She feels a little bit underweight as well.
I'd say she's been sick for a few days, and doesn't seem to be in critical condition but there's definitely something wrong with her. Her sisters do not seem to be exhibiting any signs of illness or fatigue like she is. Any ideas? I have her indoors in a dog crate with fresh food and water.
Tl;dr
- 7month old bird, has been laying for about a month
- fatigued and malaise-y
- can stand up and walk, but will not do so unless prompted, and only takes a couple wobbly steps
- seems to be disoriented/dizzy whenever she's standing up
- not showing any external symptoms (unless I don't know what to look for)
- spends long sessions simply laying down and picking at grass. Could easily be mistaken for a healthy bird, but if one walked up she would not run and can be easily knocked over"

Since I posted these symptoms, she has died. She was walking around to eat and drink on her own last night, and I don't understand why she died!!!! There's a soft lump right above her breast bone but otherwise i can't feel any tumors. She's dead, my daughter is distraught. Does anybody know what happened?!?! The stumbling definitely seemed like paralysis. Please help

Treat your girls with corrid, for coccidia and deworm. Im in the process of doing this with all ages of my flock due to a few dieing unexpectedly and my hunch was right I had a coccidia out break, happened this time last year too. Its a five day treatment with corrid and a one time treatment for a dewormer for 30 days then retreat on the 30th day this will be the last treatment, then no need to retreat after the second one unless they get worms again.

Sorry for your loss, it's hard losing such loved feathered kids. Hope this will help you.

I'm sorry for your loss, I recommend googling the symptoms to see if you can find out what happened when I did that I got it was just a symptom of some underlying disease

I am so sorry - losing a bird you have known and cared for is just awful. Have you considered a necropsy? I lost a young hen to an impacted gizzard, which I only knew, when I opened her - no other way to tell, and nothing would have helped. My girl, however, stopped eating, and drinking - not the same symptoms as yours. I hope you find the cause.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm new to raising chickens, but I love my five girls dearly. My heart goes out to you and your daughter.

Not the best chicken expert, but I have dealt with similar symptoms and my guess that she had Marek's disease. It takes a long time to form and there are no medications to stop it unless the chicken was vaccinated as a chick.
Marek's causes the chicken to lose the feeling of its legs, and over time, will lose her sight. It's absolutely horrible. I'm so sorry for your loss.

A great article about Marek's right here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq.66077/

Hope your day gets better <3, sending love!
