Earlobe color question

Hi, I know that a white earlobe = white eggs and red earlobes = brown eggs. But my EE has a mint green earlobe. Does that mean she will have greenish eggs? My silkie has a blue earlobe and we all know they don't lay blue eggs. So, what is with the mint green earlobe? She has a pea comb and greenish legs. My other EE has red earlobes. Any suggestions?

Enough chickens with white earlobes lay white eggs and chickens with red earlobes lay bown eggs that somebody made up a rule that this is a law of nature. It's not. There are some breeds where this does not hold true. Check out Lamona, Holland, Crevecoeur, or Penedesenca for some examples. I have some mutts where it does no hold true. It makes for an interesting Urban Legend, but there is nothing genetic that causes it to be true.

The pea comb has a loose connection to the blue egg gene, so an EE with a Pea Comb will probably lay a blue or green egg. There in no genetic tie to her ear lobe color and the color of her egg shell.

earlobe color is not indicative of egg color, deposition of purine compounds just beneath the epidermal layer,
