Early Construction

I've just started my new coop. It's hard to get scale from the pics but it is being built on a 8 foot by 8 foot base. I'll have a 12x12 foot attached run as well. There will be nesting boxes on the right side. the walls will be done in "cordwood" construction. I hope you all like the start. I'll post more pictures as I get more done.

Nice coop! More ventilation/ bigger windows. Will the gable ends be open? That would work. I wish my south facing window was bigger. How will you keep critters from living under the coop? Mary

I hadn't given any thought to critters under the coop until recently. I'm not sure at this point. I'll have to think about it. I've got 6 buff orpingtons and 6 new Hampshire reds coming in about 2 weeks, so time is short.
