Early first moult??

My ducks are 9 weeks old and started dropping more feathers than usual a few days ago. Today they dropped them even faster! I checked for mites last night: nothing. Google said ducks first molt at 15 weeks? Anyone have experience with this? Are they just developing really fast, or is there something wrong?

The feathers in the water all popped up today, as I only filled it up yesterday evening.

First molt starts at 8 weeks. Second molt starts at 18 weeks, I think.

Molting at weight weeks is pretty normal, In my experience, that's usually when they go through their first molt, and will do another one a few weeks after. Hard to say exactly when a bird will molt, breed, temperature, setup, and several factors can contribute to when they will or not. It's a variable factor.
