Early hatch!!

I put my incubator on lockdown yesterday at noon thinking the 16th was my hatch day. Well, I woke up this morning to lil chirp chirp... I have an early chick & 2 other eggs that are already pipped... they’re black Japanese bantam/mix... small... any chance just because they are small they hatched early? All my other eggs are still doing fine, no pip’s yet.

Your temp could of been a hair high but my littles come on day 18 /19. Congrats !

some people swear that small bantam eggs hatch earlier, but it is more likely caused by temperature variations within the incubator.

Well the incubator must be running warm. My Black Sumatra eggs are hatching as well. So not just the bantams.!
