Would like anyone's " take" on an early molt in a mature peacock, his age is ~12.
He's not sick and acts/looks/feels ( weight wise per the latter ) healthy as can be.
No changes have been made to his environment lately or in YEARS , just the routine cleaning of the pens and normal day to day activities, etc.
No critter issues .
Him, nor any of the other peafowl in/around their pens, have been moved.
Nothing has changed in the entire peafowl pen area... it's been business as usual .
Have 11 other males , all those are performing normal as they should be this time of year. ( def. NOT in molt)
There's Nothing I can think of that would trigger him to start the molt in May !
Just curious if anyone else have ever had this happen to one of their males in the throws of breeding season ?!
