I just bought a store bought incubator with egg turner and all and upgraded from my home made ice chest water heater thermostat project and was finding worse results than before with the home made one.

So i had some chicks baking for a few days before easter weekend and had miserable results 2 live hatches one barely still alive other died in 24 hours. 2 started to hatch and died without hatching. Well my wife called and said she found the reason my rate is so poor. Turns out i plugged my new incubator into a switched outlet that the kids turn off when they leave for school and turn off before I get home at night. So every time i look its 99.5 but during the day its off. I busted the eggs yesterday in disgust.

At least there is a chance my new purchase wasnt a total waste. I thought how can the one i made be better lol.
