well i just came back from a visit at the pond and guess what! i seen domestic ducks and geese i tried to get them but they where so scared there was 2 pekins 1 magpie and 1 rouen mix and 2 rouens 1 male and female. and there where these big white and gray geese that you would never see in the wild. i fed them some chick starter feed and they ate it all. also there was this mallard female and the back of her head was missing i tried gettin her so i could take her to the animal hospital but she flew into the pond. dont people realize that theses kind of ducks and geese cant live in the wild. they were so hungry that they were runing up to me. one of the white geese came and was rubbing against me and i pet it but them it ran.

What do people think sometimes!! Good for you for trying to catch them! Its got to be difficult. Let us know if you can help some of them. Best of luck, you're an angel.

thanks lol i try to be.

i know i felt bad when i ran out of food they wanted more but the sadest part is i tried to catch them but they just were to scared. i want to call someone to try and go get them like the animal rescue or somthin but they might put them down. do you know if geese bite hard?

Would a 'letter to the editor' in our local newspapers help to educate folks? You'd think if word got out that dropping domestic foul off at the pond is like a death sentence, maybe people would think twice before bringing them home. Personally, I think the local stores shouldn't sell them to the general public...maybe only take orders to limit impulse buying "cause they're so cute".

Hmmm, I'm in-between classes right now- maybe a good time to submit a letter to the newspaper....

People just don't understand grrr. Try bringing a net with you and scooping them up. That's how I caught my Easter rescue. I hope for their sake you can get them.

Yep, makes me so mad!! So far, I think I have seen 4-5 domestic drakes at our pond. Guess that is how some people deal with the too many drakes issue. Doesn't make sense to me.
