Hi all,

I'm in Central/Sierra Foothills Calif. Placerville.

I will be looking for EE's, 7-18 weeks old. Does anyone know where I can buy in this area?

Ameraucana's are so easy to purchase, but EE's are not am finding out.

And what is the difference between the two breeds?

Tks group.

Actually EEs are what is easy to find. Those are typically what hatcheries sell and people have in their back yard flocks. EEs are a mixed breed bird with Ameraucana genetics to get the blue /green eggs so they are not really a breed

True Ameraucanas usually need to be obtained from an individual breeder who has taken the time and effort to keep them pure and maintain breed standards.

If you just want some blue eggs then the differences don't really matter.

Many folks sell birds on Craig'list

Thank you. I have two Ameraucanas who lay blue eggs and am looking for other colors is why I mentioned EEs.

Well, not being a true breed, they have beautiful colors of feathers.
