Easter egged sexing based on comb

is it true that a three row pea comb on the Easter eggers mean cockerel and a single row means pullet?

Usually but I believe a few people have ended up with pullets with 3 rows. Feathers can tell too. Females will have a even coloring and boys are flashy.

It can show up on either gender. Likewise, not every cockerel has three rows of peas.

I had to go out and double check mine. And I have 3 rows on my pullets. sometimes doesn't show up when young and then show more at 3-4 months old. So I don't see that as a good way to sex the chicks.

Some Easter Eggers are not pure for pea combs. Meaning both parents may not have been pea combed. So the "3 rows" rule may not be reliable.

That's a cockerel though. Can clearly see his saddle feathers in another pic in you "BSL" post.
