Meet Cherry - an 11 week old Easter Egger from our local feed store. Their splashes of red feathers are just gorgeous - but the enormous red comb is concerning. It’s larger and darker than all our others - but we have a variety of breeds. The only other Easter Egger, Penny, has the beginnings of a pale pink rose comb. Because they’re Easter Eggers it’s very likely they’re mixed with entirely different breeds.
Cherry’s tail feathers are also more errect and elongated than everyone else. Today I noticed that the end is starting to curl over in that typical Roo fashion.
Several pics of Cherry attached with one of Penny for comparison.
