After much time and money spent pleading with the town to allow chickens on my 1.2 acres in an agricultural area (walking distance to the county fair), I have been able to welcome my poultry.
I purchased "pullets" from TS 9 weeks ago and am pretty sure I have a Cockerel. I wanted to see what y'all thought.
I don't mind a rooster, but if it's a boy I need to make plans for rehoming or consuming him before I get in trouble for having a rooster.

That makes me feel a lot better, thank you. I wasn't sure as I have another EE that is all black and doesn't have the brown collar and is a bit smaller so that made me nervous about this one.
The comb is small are fairly pale, so that is what I am going by. I think you are good but check back in a few weeks if there are still questions about it.

I thought pullet too. Well done for winning your fight!

Crazy you even had to fight though especially given your rural setting! In our country we have an Act that means any landowner can keep hens and rabbits wherever they are in the country thankfully in some areas an Englishman's home is still his castle!
