Easter egger laying at 5 months

My Easter egger has already started laying way ahead of schedule. Still waiting on my barred rock(same age). Have others had Easter egger a start early when they share space with an earlier layer breed like barred rocks?

I had read 7 months. I live in NC. I am currently feeding them a specialty flock blend since I had read that the EE would lay later. I will be switching back to an organic layer feed now. Any suggestions on feed?
