Easter Egger Roo Agressive!

I agree with everyone above, unfortunately. If kids weren't involved I'd say go ahead and try to "train" him, but since you have such a young kid who could be seriously injured by an aggressive cockerel/rooster... It's probably best to cull (or find a home for him if you can but he will probably just end up culled anyway because of his aggression).

It'll be hard on your 15 year old since they've bonded, but it just isn't safe to keep this bird.

If a rooster is something you want to have in the future, I highly recommend reading this article by Shadrach. Then read it again. And again.

I will just put it this way… if this was a dog that attacked your 8 year old and your 15 year old wanted to still keep it would you? Feathered or fury an animal is still an animal. They can permanently scar up a face and take an eye out just as easily as a dog can if not more so because people tend to give aggressive cockerels more chances than they would an aggressive dog. I have two boys and if a cockerel/rooster puts one of my kids on their hit list then that bird goes on my hit list for my dinner menu next week.
