New to backyardchicks, I just got my first chicks a week ago. They where sold as 1 week old female Ameraucana. This is just a document of what they will look like as they grow up

2 Weeks of age

1. Baby chick/micro raptor (my daughter cant make up her mind on what to name it)

She is the friendliest and also the runt, far smaller then the others.

2. Melody

3. nugget

4. no name

5. Blondie

Look forward to watching yours grow. I have three about the same size. Two look like yours and the other is black with some cream.

From what I'm being told, a larger tail indicates female. One of mine has no tail at all. Should be interesting to see what they become as they grow.

Oh no he is so pretty too, would you return him?
I didn't know that, thank you.
I will post three week update in 2 days. I will try to get them every week.
I'm also going to try hatching mix breeds if I can get my hands on a incubator and some eggs.

3 weeks old

After petting their beaks they all seem to be more friendly, all tolerate being held except nugget.

Try rubbing their itchy beaks lol, mine are still skittish but no name will run up to me for a beak pet.

I stick them in at night because the coop still needs to be stained before the poop messes up the wood, but after it dries all out I will get my kitchen back and they get a bigger area for night time. They do not like the heat light anymore in the brooder. I used a old storage bin and it is very small for them now.
