Are Easter Eggers actually called easter eggers or do they have specific names. is there only one type of breed? or is there many? What colour eggs do they lay? I find them super interesting. Pink blue and green eggs would be awesome

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Easter Eggers are hybrids produced by crossing blue egg layers with brown egg layers to produce offspring that will lay eggs in colors other than just blue (olive, green, beige, and sometimes pale pink). Hatcheries and feed stores frequently and incorrectly market their EEs under the labels Ameraucana or Araucana, but those are true breeds and not hybrids. There is a good article at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html explaining the difference between Easter Eggers, Ameraucanas, and Araucanas. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.
