Hi,
Just very recently my precious little hen Cheekie an EE was killed by our mean gander, I am finally able to function again normally without crying! Anyway, I ordered some from My Pet Chicken and they are to ship July 27

. My question is what is the diff between Standard and Bantam? I'm assuming it's a few lbs? I don't know which Cheekie was a Standard or Bantam, Could someone clear up my confusion? They have a pic at MPC when I ordered but they both look like the same pic was used so I have no idea and I am curious. I did order the Standard. I'm so excited to get them and I really don't care that much which they are but would like them to be like my little hen! Thankyou!

I think, and correct me if I am wrong, but I think bantam eggs would be smaller and maybe not as many?
Congrats on your chicks, and so sad Cheekie died.

Bantams are the miniatures of the chickens world and I think they range from about 1lb to around 3 lbs. Not real sure about that though, someone will probably come on here and correct me. But they are smaller versians of the standard or large fowl breeds. Congrats on your new babies ( you have to post pics for us when they arrive ) and I am very sorry to hear about your loss. It happens, but it never gets any easier when it's your favorite.

Your better off getting the standard. Bantam sexing is difficult and if you don't want any roosters if was best to go with standard. My Pet Chicken only posts a standard. Bantam ones are more round with sorter legs, just like miniatures of ..um... donkeys

You can look at more pictures at feathersite.com
Go to chicken page and then scroll down to chicken breeds.. you should be able to find your way around
