When I sit under my favorite tree drinking coffee watching clouds go by I often think of how good I had it as a kid back in the 50s. Maybe some of you can remember your Easter Egg Hunts where they had a certain color eggs, you would get a baby chick or duck as a prize. One yr I got 4 which Mom gave to a neighbor since Grandparents had more chicks then were being won at the hunt. Today's kids are awarded cheap beads, baubles, maybe some loose change in a plastic egg or the big prize for a greasy breakfast sandwich from McDonalds. Sorry to say I feel my generation had the best of it. :old

Definitely. I wasn’t here in the 50s but even the 80s was better than Easter now a days. I remember actually being excited and hopeful of finding that golden egg. With prizes like bikes or Barbie’s or a brand new basketball we put through some effort into hunting those eggs. And let’s not talk about how the eggs was hidden. We actually had to look for them. Last Eater egg hunt I attended with my children the eggs were just haphazardly thrown all over the ground. What is the purpose of that. Is it that hard to bend behind a bush to hide an egg? Or is it that people now re just doing things cause they think they should not because they actually want to.

I was born in the 2000s and i remember the different colored eggs. And the golden egg was always the one everyone wanted. Also the different toy prizes we would get. But it was way better than what kids get now. I do feel like lots of people dont care anymore , which is sad. I still make it the best Easter for my family, and although we dont do the egg hunts at relatives anymore i still do it at our house.
