eating soft shell eggs

New to chickens - so far only 3 red stars - seems 1 is laying only soft shell eggs. Threw in compost pile but then fried 1 for dog and it looked good but concerned about bacteria. Started drying egg shells and making into powder for extra calcium. These girls won't eat any of the goodies I put out for them, lettuce, tomatoes, nuts, yogurt, chicken bones.

Yes, make sure they have calcium and layer feed. Are you feeding scratch? If so, stop as this can decrease egg production. I've attached a link you should check out too.
