Eating the dust bath....

I have 6 chicks in a chicken tractor. I put sand in a cat box out for them and they jumped in and started to eat it....I assume that's ok, it's just sand. I guess they will figure it out??? They do need to eat sand, for grit, right???

Chicks will instinctively eat sand as grit. The size will get progressively larger as they age.
