I was wondering if anyone has plans for a small coop, or tractor that utilizes most of the wood. It would only have to hold a trio or pair of bantams. I want a design that i can make alot of (5-10) and be low cost. Anyone have anything like this?

This
will be fairly easy to build with only a few bucks invested if you have tools and lumber available. I used 1/2 hardware cloth to offer the protection and it has worked terrifically. You can modify the size if you like but the one in the picture is basically 2 x 8 x 2. Outside dimensions are slightly larger, but you get the picture. Any questions just ask. Wish you well.

I'm looking at tractors, too but for full size hens.

The design is simple and very cost effective. I plan to completely cover the sides that are partially solid in the pics. Plans are $14 and cost to make full size is $120 - 150. Also, I am adding a door and lock feature against predators.

The one I love is the Converticoop.

Plans are $24 and the supplies supposedly cost 175 - 200 assuming you have a miter saw. Looks like a pain to build for a non handi-woman like me but what a great tractor.

Anyone have anything to say pro or con about either one?

Thanks!!!

Oops I forgot to mention, both of these tractors can be made half or third size. I saw the Converti coop done for a couple of bantams. It was adorable.

I have one A frame tractor and hate it.
My Quik pens on my website are easy to make and easy to move. They can be changed in style a bit and I plan to make a few in the spring different. The wind gets to 60mph and I have not ever had one to blow over or move.
The A frame is just a pain to move and get into for eggs or to catch a bird.

I really am not fond of the A frame coop. Just seems too tight up top.
I like my chooks to have room to move.
