I'm sad to say that Pineapple has passed on. Thank you all for your input.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm growing more concerned as the day goes on.

He is still dancing and acting silly, yet his voice is still hoarse and high-pitched.

If he's acting fine then there's probably no need to worry, just watch him closely.

My boy sometimes has a different pitch sometimes. If he's still eating,drinking and being silly like cockatiels do I wouldn't worry. If nothing else you could take him into the vet to see what they say.

Update on Pineapple:

He has stopped singing altogether. I'm leaning more toward taking him to the vet by now.

Yes, bring him to a vet. When they go down.they go very QUICKLY.

Did you have any smoke in the house recently? Like when cooking?

No, I haven't had any smoke. I do happen to cook with Teflon (nonstick) pans, but he is upstairs, in a different room, with the door closed. If it were a metter of Teflon, I would think his brother would be suffering too.
